As part of the vital advocacy provided to your small business by GAMOA we will share the recent out coming from the GA Supreme Court related to COAMs. While many of you may have not been aware that the GA DOR had won two prior court decisions related to the taxation of COAM revenues, GAMOA immediately addressed the issue and was successful in the recent decision. On Sept 19th the GA Supreme Court ruled in favor of the claimant Funvestment along with trade groups that provided sublement briefs. Both  GAMOA and the Oilmams Association joined Funvestment in taking up this matter. Had the Supreme Court ruled against the existing policies and standing the revenue you collect from COAMs would have been subject to sales tax.  Legal Counsels Chris Anuelewicz and Les Schneider were successful in obtaining a unanimous decision from the Supreme Court answering the question once and for all.

There are several other pending issues facing COAM ownership in Georgia including, local control, sales tax on machine purchase, and possible changes to requirements for your technicians that interact with the site controllers.
